What Errands Are

SiteWatch Errands is a diaspora concierge service that lets Zimbabweans abroad pay $45 to have a verified local provider run errands on their behalf — groceries, document collection, utility payments, welfare checks, and more.

Why it works: Our own experience validated it. Diaspora pay $50+ to family members with no accountability. $45 with GPS-verified proof, professional providers, and platform guarantees is a clear upgrade.

Core Flow

Customer requests errand → Pays $45 via Stripe → Elber assigns provider →
Provider completes errand → GPS-verified proof photo → Platform pays provider $30 →

Provider Operations

Dispatch (Manual for Launch)

Errand comes in + payment confirmed
Elber posts to WhatsApp coordination group: "New [type] in [area] — who's available?"
First provider to confirm gets assigned
System generates unique Provider PWA link
Provider opens link → sees errand details, GPS target, customer instructions

Completion Requirements

GPS-verified proof photo — must be within 500m geofence of target location
EXIF extraction — GPS pulled from photo metadata (fallback: device GPS via PWA)
No GPS = no payout — provider must be physically present
Completion notes — brief summary of what was done

Payment on Completion

$30 payout via EcoCash USD wallet (provider receives full $30 — platform absorbs IMTT)
Triggered only after GPS validation passes
Same-day if completed before 4pm, otherwise next business day

No Advance at Launch

Jobs 1-3: NO advance (provider self-funds to build trust)
Future graduated model (not active):
- Jobs 4-10: $5 flat advance
- Jobs 10+: 30% advance (min $5, max $15)
2 no-shows = permanent advance revocation + suspension

Purchase Money Handling

Critical legal boundary: SiteWatch NEVER touches, holds, or pools purchase funds. This avoids Zimbabwe Reserve Bank (RBZ) banking regulations.

SiteWatch charges only the $45 service fee via Stripe
Customer sends purchase funds directly to provider via EcoCash (P2P)
Platform displays provider's EcoCash number after assignment
Customer confirms "I've sent it" → provider confirms receipt → errand proceeds

Product Design Decisions (June 24-28, 2026)

Provider Profiles + Customer Choice

"Request [Name]" is the PRIMARY mode (premium $65)
Provider profiles: name, photo, area, completed jobs, response time, badges
Auto-assign as fallback for "just get it done fastest" (standard $45)
Daily cap: 3 jobs/day per provider
Ratings NOT public at launch — show job count + badges only. Stars go public after 10+ reviews.

Payment Decision

Pre-auth hold on submission, captured on GPS-verified completion
Rationale: Customer sees "Payment authorized ✓" immediately. Hold is captured only when errand is GPS-verified complete. If provider no-shows, hold is released (no refund processing needed).
Clear status updates: "payment authorized → runner dispatched → in progress → verified complete → charged"

Tiered Provider Promotion

Premium ($65/$45): Auto-promoted after 10+ completions with 4.5+ rating
